Cabernet Sauvignon
Clovelly Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 @ R100-00
The Clovelly Cabernet Sauvignon is a huge wine with good structure and fruit and good length. The wine is full bodied and richly concentrated with lots of ripe succulent black fruit flavours. Filtration is minimal on the wine - maintaining the strict philosophy at Clovelly - that the wine is handled as naturally as possible to let the wine speak for itself.
Patina Shiraz
Patina Shiraz 2005 @ R 250-00
Age precedes beauty, when the beauty is in the enjoyment of the gently matured and carefully kempt qualities of Clovelly Wines.
Well-rounded and spicy… bold and lusciously feminine, this is the legacy of plump grapes naturally ripened on the vine, a slow and elegant maturation in the casks, and a refinement acquired through years of lazing in the bottle, like the treasured patina on a trinket of copper, or on a table top of ancient oak, imbued with character through generations of good company, fine food and excellent wine.
This is the maiden harvest of Patina Shiraz, crafted by Jacques Fourie. Experience a wonderful food wine, best enjoyed decanted and slowly sipped… mouthful by beautiful mouthful.
Triangle
Clovelly Triangle @ R 60-00
Clovelly Triangle reflects on the 3 partners involved in Clovelly Wines, the property is also in a Triangular shape and therefore the name Triangle. In some years this wine can be a blend of 3 cultivars and in other years it may turn out as a single cultivar wine and currently it is Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine shows good colour, length and there is a good balance between fruit/tannin that bring forward a wine smooth and soft on the palate.
Chardonnay
Clovelly Chardonnay 2006/2007 @ R80-00
Clovelly Chardonnay is wood fermented and aged for 6 months in a mix of French oak-first, second & third fill barrels and then ages on French oak staves for another 4 months before it is blended with an unwooded portion of Chardonnay to give a good finish between wood and fruit. The wine has lemon and lime flavours backed by buttery and vanilla overtones with good finish on the palate.
